OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources leader with specific experience managing PEBA benefits. This role is responsible for guiding benefits administration, ensuring compliance with South Carolina public employee benefits programs, and leading a small team dedicated to employee support and education. The ideal candidate must have direct experience with PEBA.

DUTIES
  • Lead and oversee daily operations of a benefits-focused HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Manage the administration of employee insurance and retirement programs governed by South Carolina public benefits authorities
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of benefits data across HR systems, benefits platforms, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate and deliver employee education initiatives such as benefits orientations, information sessions, and annual enrollment support
  • Reconcile monthly insurance and third-party vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Partner with external vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing of new hire enrollments and benefit changes
  • Create and maintain benefit codes, deductions, and required annual reporting documents (including ACA-related filings)
  • Utilize advanced Excel tools to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and support decision-making
  • Contribute as a member of the HR leadership team, supporting department-wide initiatives and organizational change efforts

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree required; coursework or degree emphasis in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in human resources and/or employee benefits
  • At least two years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience
  • PEBA is a must-have
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and working with large datasets
  • Able to work fully in office Monday-Friday, 8:30-5

PAY DETAILS
  • $72k-$80k/year for someone with 6-30 years of experience, respectively
