Responsibilities:
- Manage complex cases from inception through discovery and verdict
- Draft, edit, and proofread motions, briefs, pleadings, notices, correspondence, summaries, and reports
- Prepare and file briefs, pleadings, subpoenas, and other documents in state and federal courts and administrative agencies
- Support labor union campaigns by assisting with related materials, resources, and communications
- Prepare discovery requests and responses, summarize deposition transcripts, and manage document productions
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, charts, notebooks, and subpoenas
- Cite-check and quality-control legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Create and maintain complex document databases
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use
- Coordinate and schedule conferences, depositions, hearings, mediations, and meetings
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as needed
- Conduct legal research using resources such as PACER, SJIS, Lexis, Secretary of State records, and other online and public databases
- Track and manage court calendars, deadlines, filings, and appearances
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification required
- 2+ years of litigation experience in employment law, labor union campaigns, and collective bargaining
- Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedures, state and federal court procedures, and electronic filing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other document management software required
- Knowledge of e-discovery and Trial Director required
- Strong communication and drafting skills
