Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Parts Specialist to support internal service and repair operations for heavy-duty diesel trucks.
This role serves as the primary resource for identifying, sourcing, and distributing parts needed by technicians and service personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of diesel truck components and experience supporting repair operations in a dealership, fleet, truck repair, or heavy equipment environment.
This is primarily an internal-facing, back counter position supporting service and maintenance teams rather than walk-in retail customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support service technicians and internal departments by identifying and supplying required parts.
- Research, source, and recommend parts for diesel truck repairs and maintenance.
- Collaborate with technicians and service personnel to accurately identify repair parts.
- Manage internal parts requests and prioritize urgent service needs.
- Verify part numbers, pricing, availability, and lead times.
- Coordinate special orders and source hard-to-find parts when necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock shortages.
- Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to track orders and parts activity.
- Follow up on backorders and provide status updates to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and organized parts storage areas.
- Stay current on new products, industry updates, and manufacturer changes.
- Deliver exceptional support while helping minimize equipment downtime.
- 2+ years of experience in:
- Heavy-duty truck parts
- Diesel engine parts
- Automotive dealership parts
- Fleet maintenance parts
- Heavy equipment parts
- Strong knowledge of diesel truck components and repair parts.
- Ability to identify parts using catalogs, VINs, schematics, and manufacturer resources.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with ERP, dealership management, or inventory management systems.
- Experience with systems such as Procede, CDK, Karmak, or similar platforms.
- Prior experience supporting technicians, service departments, or shop operations.
- Experience with heavy-duty truck manufacturers, diesel engines, or commercial vehicle components.
- $58,000-$60,000 + Bonus
