As a Water Mitigation Technician, you will be responsible for performing hands-on mitigation services at residential and commercial loss sites. This role focuses on physical mitigation work, including water extraction, equipment setup and monitoring, demolition, and removal of damaged materials, while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform water mitigation services, including water extraction, controlled demolition, removal of damaged flooring and drywall, cleaning, and debris handling.
  • Set up, monitor, adjust, and retrieve drying and dehumidification equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA filters, etc.) according to IICRC standards.

Jobsite Setup & Teardown

  • Properly protect unaffected areas using plastic containment, floor protection, and negative air systems as required.
  • Safely remove and transport damaged contents and materials to designated disposal or storage areas.

Monitoring & Documentation

  • Perform daily monitoring visits, including moisture readings, equipment checks, and documentation of conditions as directed.
  • Accurately document work performed, moisture levels, and job progress using company systems (DASH) and field reports.

Demolition & Material Handling

  • Perform selective demolition of drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinetry, and other affected materials as part of the mitigation scope.
  • Lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and materials safely and efficiently.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including IICRC, OSHA, and EPA guidelines at all times.
  • Properly use PPE and maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.

Equipment Care & Maintenance

  • Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on mitigation and monitoring equipment.
  • Ensure all company equipment, tools, and vehicles are kept clean, organized, and operational.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

  • Assist with equipment inventory tracking, including participation in scheduled inventory counts.
  • Monitor consumable supplies (poly, tape, filters, chemicals, PPE, etc.) and notify leadership when stock is low.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and inspection-ready warehouse, office, and exterior grounds.

Team Support

  • Work closely with Project Managers and other technicians to execute mitigation scopes efficiently and accurately.
  • Support emergency response operations, including after-hours and weekend work during large-loss or surge events.

Professional Development

  • Participate in training sessions, safety meetings, and certification programs to improve technical skills and industry knowledge.
