Position Summary
An established independent insurance agency is seeking an experienced Property & Casualty Account Manager (Commercial Lines) to join its growing team in Anderson, SC. This role serves as a primary point of contact for clients, providing insurance expertise, account management, policy servicing, and support for new business development. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial and personal lines background, excellent client relationship skills, and the ability to independently manage a book of business while identifying opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries regarding policies, coverage options, billing, and policy changes.
- Provide timely quotations, policy reviews, and account support.
- Communicate policy updates, renewals, endorsements, and coverage recommendations.
- Gather underwriting information and develop accurate insurance submissions.
- Present coverage options and assist clients in selecting appropriate insurance solutions.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and recommend additional coverages based on client needs.
- Develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
- Prepare professional proposals and coverage summaries.
- Review policy audits and assist clients with corrections and carrier communications.
- Manage commercial and personal lines accounts throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Review carrier quotations for accuracy, adequacy of coverage, and competitiveness.
- Negotiate coverage enhancements and pricing with insurance carriers when appropriate.
- Process endorsements, certificates of insurance, cancellations, reinstatements, and policy changes.
- Coordinate new business, renewals, and remarketing efforts.
- Review client coverage needs during renewal periods and significant business changes.
- Manage renewal communications and follow-up activities.
- Assist with billing inquiries, collections, and account maintenance.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in agency management systems.
- Utilize task management systems and renewal reports to ensure timely completion of work.
- Document all client interactions and activities according to agency standards.
- Ensure compliance with agency procedures and carrier requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to support departmental goals and service standards.
- Participate in team meetings, training initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
Required
- 3-5+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience.
- Ability to immediately manage an existing book of business.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines and Personal Lines insurance products.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with AMS360.
- Experience with ImageRight (WorkSmart).
- Active South Carolina Property & Casualty Insurance License.
- $50,000 – $75,000 annually
