Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary resource for employee relations matters, including performance management guidance, conflict resolution, and escalated employee questions
- Administer leave and accommodations processes including FMLA and ADA
- Manage and maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS
- Process employee changes such as promotions, transfers, pay updates, contracts, and separations
- Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding activities in partnership with another HR Generalist
- Coordinate and help facilitate in person orientations and employee recognition efforts
- Track and maintain required employee certifications in collaboration with leadership
- Provide policy interpretation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Prepare HR reports and assist with audits, documentation, and compliance needs
- Partner cross functionally with leadership on training, development, and employee engagement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Local to Greenville or Columbia SC
- Prior experience as an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator with increasing responsibility
- Strong experience in employee relations and advising leaders on performance matters
- Experience administering leaves of absence and accommodations strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems and HR operations processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Experience in education or nonprofit environments is a plus
- Ability to travel periodically for orientations and meetings within the state
Compensation & Benefits:
