A growing organization in Columbia, SC is seeking to add a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations and provide workforce reporting that supports business decisions. Responsibilities

Process payroll accurately and efficiently, including bonuses, salaries, wages, deductions, and tax withholdings

Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies while ensuring exceptional accuracy and confidentiality

Maintain employee payroll records, including pay changes, new hire information, terminations, and employee updates

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and wage-and-hour requirements

Coordinate workers’ compensation audits and provide required documentation to auditors and insurance partners

Support regulatory and internal compliance initiatives through data gathering and reporting

Prepare recurring reports and dashboards that support leadership decision-making around staffing and labor management

Collaborate with operational leaders to improve reporting processes and data accuracy

Develop and maintain HR and operational reports related to labor costs, overtime tracking, and workforce trends

Assist with special projects and other business reporting needs as assigned
Qualifications

3+ years of payroll processing experience. Multi-state or multi-location payroll experience is preferred

Experience using payroll or HRIS systems or similar platforms

High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and labor laws

Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
