Responsibilities
- Managing fund accounting: Oversees the accounting and reporting for all funds, ensuring accurate classification, tracking, and compliance with governmental accounting standards.
- Reconciliations and closings: Reviews and approves monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and financial closings to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Journal entries: Prepares, reviews, and posts complex and routine journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and accurate posting to the general ledger.
- Compliance with GAAP: Ensures accounting activities adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applicable regulations and policies.
- Budget support: Assists with the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of operating and capital budgets, including budget amendments and financial projections.
- Coordination with auditors and leadership: Serves as a key point of contact for external auditors and leadership, supporting audit activities, addressing findings, and providing financial guidance and reporting.
- Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)
- Opportunity to work a HYBRID schedule after training (WFH 2 days per week)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Accounting Management experience (Required)
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in government/public sector
- CPA (preferred)
- Workday experience (Preferred)
- Strong experience with MS Office Suites
- $68,000 – $85,000
