A growing, client-focused law firm in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking a Personal Injury (PI) Attorney to join its collaborative team. This role offers a strong balance of autonomy and support, with a manageable caseload, flexible scheduling, and a family-oriented, fast-paced environment focused on delivering excellent client outcomes.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 100–150 pre-litigation matters and ~20 litigation cases with support from paralegals and case managers
  • Conduct client intakes, legal consultations, and ongoing client communications to ensure exceptional service
  • Investigate liability and insurance coverage, including policy limits, asset searches, and supporting documentation
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and other involved parties; obtain and evaluate recorded statements when appropriate
  • Oversee evidence collection, including medical records, reports, photos, and other case materials
  • Develop case strategies, evaluate damages, and guide settlement negotiations with insurance adjusters
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
  • Review and approve demands and litigation recommendations
  • Participate in regular case reviews and provide direction to support staff
  • Ensure all case activity and communications are accurately documented in the case management system
 
Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of experience as a Personal Injury Attorney (pre-litigation and/or litigation)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in South Carolina
  • Strong knowledge of personal injury law, insurance coverage, and claims processes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supervising or working closely with legal support staff is preferred
 
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base salary starting around $62,000+ (negotiable based on experience)
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities  approximately $10,000 annually
